Superfoods for the Season

Superfoods are packed with vitamins, minerals, and natural flavors! It’s not by accident that during the cold months nature gives us vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and brussels sprouts. All these veggies are the perfect natural antibiotic and immune system booster.

Fourteen (14) tasty awesome autumn food to look for in the produce aisle include apples, Brussel sprouts, tangerines, pears, cauliflower, squash, pumpkin, sweet potato, turnips, pomegranates, dates, kiwi, parsnips, and grapefruit.

The featured salad makes it super easy to consume large quantities of one of the aforementioned superfoods; the cabbage.
The incredibly nutritious cabbage is a powerhouse of anti-oxidants and disease-fighting phytochemicals. Additionally, its vitamin C content is even higher than that of oranges. Carrots provide a boost of vitamin A and vitamin B. Beets are not only packed with minerals and vitamins, but their high iron content has a blood purifying and detoxifying effect. Add to that the natural antibiotic power of garlic, the good fat from avocados, walnuts, and olive oil, and I think you can’t wait to whip up the Fall Superfood Salad listed below!


Cabbage is a superfood!

 2 cup red cabbage, shredded
 2 cup green cabbage
 1 cup shredded carrots
 ½ cup roasted beet, shredded
 1 teaspoon yellow beet
 ½ avocado
 1 teaspoon dill weed
 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
DRESSING (blend all ingredients together)
 2-3 garlic cloves
 1/2 cup olive oil
 1/4 cup unfiltered apple cider vinegar


1. Combine all salad ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Make dressing by mixing oil, vinegar and pressed garlic cloves.
3. Add a few pinches of salt, and pour the dressing over.
4. Mix really well and serve
